Terms of Service

Last updated: August 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of ValetSold, a service that helps people sell their own cars privately: we build your listing, handle buyer communication on your behalf, help schedule showings, and generate closing paperwork. By creating an account, or by contacting a seller through a ValetSold listing, you agree to them.

1. What ValetSold is, and is not

ValetSold is a software and concierge service. We are not a car dealer, auto broker, escrow service, financial institution, or law firm. We never take ownership or possession of your vehicle, and we never hold sale proceeds. The sale is between you and your buyer; payment verification and title services are provided by independent licensed partners under their own terms.

2. Your account

Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 and able to lawfully sell the vehicle you list, and the information you give us about it โ€” mileage, condition, history, title status โ€” must be accurate. The listing is published in your name and you are its publisher.

3. The fee, in plain terms

4. You post your own listings

We prepare posting kits for marketplaces such as Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, but you publish those listings yourself, from your own accounts, and your use of those platforms is governed by their terms, not ours. We never post on your behalf, access your marketplace accounts, or ask for their credentials.

5. The communication relay and automated assistant

Your listing carries a ValetSold contact address and, where available, a phone line. Messages sent to them are handled by an automated assistant acting on your behalf, supervised by you: it answers questions from your listing's facts, screens for likely scams, and proposes showing times from your stated availability. Conversations are screened and logged, and buyer-facing messages disclose that they are automated.

Scam screening is a best-effort filter, not a guarantee. Fraudulent buyers may get through and legitimate buyers may occasionally be flagged; you can review every conversation and override any decision. You, not ValetSold, decide who to meet, and every meeting and test drive is at your own judgment and risk. Follow our safe-selling guidance.

6. AI-generated content

We draft your listing copy, price justification, and message replies with AI, from the facts you provide. AI output can be wrong. You approve the listing before it goes live and you are responsible for the accuracy of everything published about your vehicle, including disclosures required by law.

7. Closing documents and DMV guidance

The bill of sale, signing flow, and DMV walkthroughs are self-help document preparation and general information, not legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship is created. Requirements vary by state and change; verify anything that matters with your DMV or a lawyer. Electronic signatures collected through the service are intended to satisfy e-signature laws, but you are responsible for executing whatever your state requires.

8. Payment verification partners

We steer closings toward payment verification through independent licensed providers (such as KeySavvy). Those services are separate companies with their own terms and fees. We do not guarantee a buyer's payment, performance, or conduct, on any payment method.

9. Buyers and visitors

If you contact a seller through a ValetSold listing: your messages are processed by our automated assistant on the seller's behalf, screened for fraud, logged, and shared with the seller. Listing information is provided by the seller, not verified by ValetSold. The free scam-check tool provides an automated opinion for information only; it is not a guarantee that any conversation is or is not fraudulent.

10. Acceptable use

Don't use ValetSold to list a vehicle you don't have the right to sell, to misrepresent a vehicle, to defraud buyers or sellers, to send spam, or to probe, disrupt, or overload the service. We may quarantine messages, suspend listings, or terminate accounts involved in suspected fraud or abuse.

11. Your content

You keep all rights to the photos and text you upload. You grant ValetSold the license needed to store, process, and publish them as directed by you โ€” that is the service. After a sale, we may keep records as needed for legal and billing purposes.

12. Availability and changes

We work to keep ValetSold available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including any warranty that your vehicle will sell, or sell at any particular price. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ValetSold's total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, or for the acts of buyers, sellers, or third-party services.

14. Termination

You may close your account at any time; if a closing is in progress, fee obligations that already accrued survive. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your listings come down and account data is deleted after a reasonable wind-down period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
